Architect of the Year - Education

Following its sponsorship of the Office category in 2007, Levolux chose to support the Education category of the Architect of the Year Awards in 2008, as it has accumulated a wealth of experience working on a large number of prestigious projects within this sector.

Notable projects have included Telford College, Cardinal Hume School, New Woodlands School, Lancaster University, Michael Tippett’s School, Haringey 6th Form College, Folkestone Academy, Marlowe Academy, Langley Academy and Sheffield Hallam University.

Levolux is the Solar Shading specialist of choice for many architects, designing, supplying and installing all types of solar shading, from external aerofoil fins and brise soleil, to tensioned fabric blinds and solar energy screens.

Since its launch in 2004, the Architect of the Year Awards has grown in size and stature, featuring entries and attendance from leading practices and is now firmly established as a key event in the architectural calendar. It is one of the largest gatherings of UK architects. The awards identify who Britain’s top clients and architectural experts think are the best architects by different categories of projects.

The 2008 awards ceremony took place on 30th October 2008 at the London Hilton.

The winner, Penoyre & Prasad, impressed the judges with its work across the sector, both in the UK and overseas. The judges particularly praised Penoyre & Prasad for its understanding of environmental issues, its carefully researched design and its attention to detail.
