Levolux renews its status as a 'carbon neutral' company

Levolux, the UK’s leading solar shading specialist, has for the second year renewed its status as a ‘carbon neutral’ company – demonstrating its commitment to sustainable construction.

This followed an annual business appraisal conducted by Carbon Footprint, a leading environmental and management consultancy. The results showed that Levolux has successfully reduced its carbon emissions over the past year – with its sights set on making further reductions.

To achieve this status, Levolux has offset its carbon emissions by supporting a major rainforest project in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya and, more recently, by supporting the development of wind power projects in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

To ensure further reductions are made, Levolux is committed to a continual process of monitoring energy consumption and improving energy efficiency throughout the company, from recycling to encouraging car sharing.

David Gordon, Levolux Sales & Marketing Director commented “In today’s world, companies like Levolux have a duty to do our bit to tackle climate change and protect the planet for future generations. Levolux has always been 100% committed to providing sustainable solar shading solutions and our renewed status as a ‘carbon neutral’ company, underpins this commitment.”

The company’s dedication to maintaining its carbon neutral status will boost its green credentials even further. “Our customers, both old and new, can specify our products with total confidence that they will not be harming the environment.” David concluded.

Renowned for its highly sustainable products, Levolux offers a selection of stylish, effective and affordable construction solutions – ranging from Electric Roller Blinds to Aerofoil Fins and Ventilation Louvres. Each help maintain a naturally cool, energy efficient working environment and are all fully recyclable.

Levolux continues to play an active role in promoting green construction practices and recently renewed its membership of the UK Green Building Council. Launched in early 2007, the high profile group campaigns for a sustainable built environment.
