Silent Gliss has developed the widest, most efficient and reliable range of electrically operated curtain track systems – purpose-designed for conference rooms, theatres, stages and auditoriums as well as for all domestic and contract locations.

Sophistication depends on reliability – Silent Gliss systems with their Swiss-built motors are guaranteed for 3 years.

All systems have non-stretch belt operation except for 5800 which has a steel core rope.

Selecting the correct system

It is essential with electrically-operated curtain tracks to choose a system which can readily cope with the specific demands to be placed on it. The most crucial factor is the total weight of the curtains to be transported by it but then come further questions such as how the curtains are to stack, are there bends involved, ceiling or wall fix, the type of curtain heading, etc.

The curtain heading must be completely below the track or the guarantee is invalidated.

Installation and electrical connection

Systems are usually supplied ready assembled except when they exceed 6-7 metres and are then broken down for transport purposes. Simple instructions will then be included showing how to reconnect the profile lengths using joining bridges. If required, Silent Gliss can carry out all installation work.

A connection point should be available at a distance of no greater than one metre from the motor. This should be discreetly situated behind the curtain, taking care that the motor will not obstruct access to the socket. Surface wiring and switching is possible when concealed wiring is impractical.

Fixing Preparation

Where the system is to be ceiling fitted (recommended in most cases), the surface must be absolutely flat. Any unevenness will cause problems in fitting the clamps and will almost certainly affect the functioning of the system. For this reason we recommend that a timber soffit is fixed the entire length of the ceiling where the track is to be mounted.

Switches, remote control and multiple system operation

The electronic operation of systems 5100/5140/5150/5300 allows for low voltage wiring in parallel and make them perfectly suitable for multiple installations. Interfacing with BUS systems and complex figurations is made simple and cost effective. There is a wide choice of simple remote control, fixed switches and an almost infinite variety of individual or simultaneous operation of these and other window treatments.

The simple combination of high grade plastic with precision engineered aluminium results in the most efficient curtain tracks available. Cord operated curtain tracks prevent the soiling of curtains by frequent handling and enable the user to control heavy, awkward or difficult-to-reach curtains. All of our systems have internal cord channels which prevent the cords from jumping out and thus make them particularly suitable for curves and bends.

Curtain Tracks - Hand Operated Curtain Track Systems

Invented in the early 1950’s our high grade nylon and precision-engineered siliconised aluminium tracks are today found all over the world, guaranteeing smooth, trouble-free and silent operation. Our extensive range covers tracks from lightweight direct fix in boats (1011,1012) to very heavy interlined curtains (1280). The perfect solution for both contract and domestic applications, each system is supplied complete, assembled and ready to hang. A large range of extension brackets is available to cover all req ui rements.

Colours, Bending and Multi-layering

A wide variety of colours are available as standard as shown. Silver, gold and bronze are achieved through anodisation processes. All other colours have a durable powder-coated finish. In addition to the standard colours a custom­colouring service is available to suit individual requirements. Overlap arms should not be used on anodised tracks as they impair efficiency.

Almost all of our tracks have been designed to be custom-bent to specification guaranteeing ultimate efficiency in bay windows.
