Lunar is a premium, decorative fabric walling system which is manufactured off-site. Lunar has a unique, metallic iridescent design and textured, contoured surface that resembles the surface of the moon. It can be tailored to create an exceptional design feature.

A unique and innovative internal decorative wall covering system
Working with international, award-winning design practice Swanke Hayden Connell Architects (SHCA), Levolux has created Lunar, a highly textured and inspirational two tone, fabric wall covering. The system was originally developed for use at the head office of office furniture dealer and installer Radius Holdings, where it was used by Levolux and SHCA to create a 16 metre long feature wall.
A new style of internal wall finish
Lunar utilises a fabric originally designed for high fashion dressmaking - a material more at home on the catwalks of Paris, Milan and London. Featuring a high copper content, the fabric has a memory and when ‘scrunched up’ and released, retains part of its new shape. When individually shaped and then adhered to panels, Levolux and SHCA discovered the material could be used to create a new style of internal wall finish.
Available in six standard colours – blue, red, gold, white, black and yellow – the fabric, due to its copper content, creates a textured two-tone, ‘moon surface’ effect when illuminated. With its iridescent quality, striking colours, shades and visual effects can be seen when viewing the fabric from different angles. Special colours can also be created to meet a client’s exact requirement. Ideal for covering both existing and new walls, Lunar can bring a new dimension to the interior of any building.
The memory characteristic offers ability to create something new and different
“I like to create interiors with contrasts and contradictions that define spaces and provide visual and textural interest,” commented Nick Pell, interior design principal at SHCA. “As soon as I was given a swatch of this new fabric by Levolux and discovered it’s ‘memory characteristic’ I recognised the potential to create something new and different. The finished product has the appearance of cleft granite but is in fact soft to the touch and provides acoustic absorption. When viewed under certain lighting conditions the panels, although static, appear to move due to the two tone effect.”
The system has subsequently been specified by SHCA for the Visa HQ in Paddington and the London executive offices of The Royal Bank of Scotland.

– Lunar is tailored to compliment other decorative features, such as light fittings, pictures, coving and architrave.
Fire rating
– The system can be fire rated to BS476 class O dependent upon the covering fabric.
