CEME Building
Solar shading excels for Centre of Excellence!
Designed by architects Sheppard Robson and funded by the London
Development Agency, London Riverside, Ford Motor Company, and
Government and European stakeholders, CEME is dedicated to providing
and encouraging an innovative range of learning activities that build
engineering, manufacturing and business capability in the Thames
Gateway.
Levolux, worked closely throughout the project with Sheppard Robson and managing contractors SDC Builders, manufacturing over 600, 290mm x 44mm shading fins, which were then fitted via stainless steel pins through the supporting steel work to form 51, 3 metre bays.
Innovative and Effective Design
“We specify market leader suppliers for all of our projects and the CEME building is no exception,” commented Graeme Fisher at Sheppard Robson, project architect for the CEME building. “Levolux offered us a package of unrivalled quality and service including innovative and effective design.”
Virtually maintenance free
Virtually maintenance free, the system can be used on both new and existing developments, adding a fresh dimension to existing buildings and distinguishing new buildings with its unique features, characteristic of all products from Levolux. Available as either single piece fins or multiple part, they can be mounted at a fixed angle, adjustable by means of motors or be fully automated with solar controls.
Like all systems from Levolux, it is backed with the company’s design, manufacture and installation package and can be produced in a variety of finishes including timber, mill finished, anodised or polyester powder coated to co-ordinate with the overall architectural design of any building.
