Waitrose - Levolux internal fabric roller blinds control direct sunlight, reduce heat gain and cut glare - especially in situations where computer screens are in use.Waitrose

Levolux shades Waitrose customers

While product bar codes may be ubiquitous, the scanning technology that reads them can be upset when hit by direct sunlight with the result that supermarket checkouts can be disrupted when the value of customers’ purchases cannot be tallied. For this reason, food retailer Waitrose has installed Levolux internal motorised fabric roller blinds in many of its stores.

Instant Protection Against the Low afternoon sun

Low afternoon sun is the principal cause of the problem so it is stores with checkouts directly beside large areas of glazing on westerly facing elevations that are generally affected. Dropping to a predetermined point and providing instant protection, the Levolux fabric roller blinds are either activated automatically or are controlled by a key switch operated by staff.

Plus Cutting Glare and Reducing Heat Gain

As well as controlling direct sunlight, Levolux internal fabric roller blinds are particularly efficient at cutting glare, especially in situations where computer screens are in use, and will also reduce solar heat gain. A wide range of high performance flame retardant fabrics are available including cotton, glass fibre, polyester and opaque for room darkening.

The blinds may be fitted within a recess, or reveal, and be face or surface mounted. Side-guides, pelmets and headboxes are available and, where required, bespoke systems can be created to meet most building and sunscreening requirements.
