External Fabric Blinds
The Levolux range of external fabric roller systems are ideally suited for all buildings, new build or refurbishment, and are particularly suited where solar heat gain and glare control is a problem.
Levolux External Fabric Blinds are not only effective sunscreening systems by keeping the heat outside a building, but can also enhance or complement a building’s design by their form and colour.
An effective sunscreening solution for vertical, sloping or horizontal glazing with the added advantage of access as the blinds can be pulled up or drawn down.
Features and Benefits of Levolux External Fabric Blinds
- Energy Savings - External fabric systems can reduce the solar heat gain entering a building by up to 90%, limiting or even eliminating the need for air conditioning.
- Aesthetically Pleasing - A wide range of fabric colours are available which can be complemented with a coordinated polyester powder coated or anodised finish to the aluminium sections.
- Maximum Control - Systems can be integrated with a sun control system to maximise protection.
- Flexible - The designer has a totally versatile range of systems to meet even the most demanding building requirements.
The Range of Levolux External Fabric Blinds Options
The Levolux 830 Fall Arm awning is ideal where nonstandard window frames and transom details can create problems for external blinds. Two pivoting fall arms are used to extend and adjust the angle of the blinds. This gives good protection to the glazed areas while giving an unobstructed view from the interior.
The Levolux 840 Rollscreen is the obvious choice for an uncomplicated external roller blind system. Supplied with extruded aluminium headbox and side guide profiles or wires as standard, the system provides an attractive, practical and cost effective solution to combat solar heat gain.
The Levolux 850 Markisolette “Little Awning” is a fabric system based on a combination of a well proven awning principle and external roller blinds. The system provides colourful protection to all types of windows and is particularly suited to tall, narrow glazed areas where a standard awning would prove impractical. In the down position a standard 600mm pair of arms project the fabric to the traditional awning style, but with the arms retracted, the markisolette provides a vertical fabric screen which can be raised and lowered as required.
System Construction
All components are subject to rigid quality standards and are designed to produce a high performance product with an aesthetically pleasing finish. The main components of the Levolux Fabric System are:
- Fabric - A selection of PVC coated open mesh glass fibre fabrics are available. The Levolux Monotone, Duotone and Darktone fabrics include a vast range of modern colours to complement any building. Also available are the Dralon type fabrics which are man made, colourfast and look like canvas. These are tightly woven and greatly reduce “see through” from the outside. Other fabrics can also be considered providing the performance data demonstrates that they are suitable for external use.
- Roller Housing - Various shapes are formed from extruded or rolled aluminium sections. Some systems are also available with acrylic glass covers. All aluminium sections can be polyester coated or anodised as standard. Other finishes can be considered.
- Side Guides - Either extruded aluminium profiles or stainless steel guide wires are available as standard.
- Control - Operation is generally by electric motor, however, some can be manually operated in certain situations. They can be controlled individually or in a group and can be linked to a sun control system to maximise protection and to make best use of varying weather conditions.
