Beaufort Park1 200x200Located within 56 acres of protected heath land, 3 miles south west of Bracknell, Beaufort Park provides a green and pleasant place to work, with a little help from Levolux. The £16 million green field office development provides 45,650 sq feet of Grade ‘A’ office space and features a number of low carbon technologies, including a custom Solar Shading solution from Levolux.

Designed by PRC Group Architects, the BREEAM ‘very good’ rated development is extremely energy efficient, producing around half the carbon emissions demanded by current building regulations. Not only will this benefit the environment, but it will also create substantial cost savings to new occupiers.

Beaufort Park2 200x200One of the most important and striking features of the building, is the series of vertical projecting Glass Fins provided by Levolux, the UK’s leading Solar Shading specialist. In total, 86 external fixed Glass Fins were installed on the east and west facing elevations at ground and first floor levels. Each laminated Glass Fin, measuring 2700mm long, 400mm wide and 21.5mm thick, is finished with an acid etched effect and is secured to the building using folded stainless steel components.

Beaufort Park3 200x200The Glass Fins limit the exposure of the building’s windows to direct sunlight, while allowing plenty of natural daylight to filter through into the building. As a result, excessive solar heat gain is prevented and the need for air conditioning is significantly reduced.

Elsewhere, to further enhance the building’s aesthetics, in keeping with its stunning natural surroundings, unsightly roof level plant and equipment is concealed behind an impressive array of extruded aluminium Screening Louvres.

Beaufort Park5 200x200Levolux installed its ‘Z’ profile 85mm Louvres, to form a screen measuring 2750mm in height and stretching a total of 102 metres. With their light grey powder coating, the Screening Louvres allow essential heating and ventilating plant and equipment to be located out of sight at roof level, operating within a ventilated space, without compromising the architect’s vision of a clean, sophisticated aesthetic.

Gary Watson, Project Director at PRC Group Architects, was impressed with the Levolux installation, commenting “We were very pleased with the service provided by Levolux, from assisting us with the initial design, developing a cost-effective solution, through to completing the installation efficiently and within budget.”

Beaufort Park4 200x200Like all Solar Shading systems from Levolux, the Glass Fins and Screening Louvres used on this project are backed by the company’s design, manufacture and installation package.

Beaufort Park is no ordinary business park. It boasts an enviable, secluded natural setting and a host of advanced energy efficient features, making it a refreshing place to work. With the help of Levolux, the new office development is set to become one of the most desirable addresses for businesses relocating in the Thames Valley region.
